Mizulina will leave the “Fair Russia”

Member of Council of Federation Elena Mizulina took the decision on an exit from “Fair Russia”, which was in 2007. On Monday, January 23, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the MP.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, Mizulina has sent the corresponding statement in regional branch of the party in Omsk region, which the Senator represents in the Federation Council.

She works in the upper house of the Russian Parliament from September 2015. Previously he was the Deputy of the state Duma of the second, third, fifth and sixth convocations. In addition to the “Fair Russia”, was the Communist party, “Yabloko” and “Union of right forces”.

The MP known for his controversial legislative initiatives. In particular, she called to recognize the use of the Internet as an aggravating circumstance in establishing punishments for crimes repeatedly opposed abortion and surrogate motherhood, ban the sale of pills for abortion, and he was one of the authors of the law on liability for gay propaganda.

In October 2016 Mizulina introduced the state Duma a bill suggesting the decriminalization of domestic violence. The document envisages the transfer of the first case of domestic battering from the category of criminal offences into the category of administrative offenses, while the second and subsequent occurrences of domestic violence are encouraged to leave criminal offences. The draft adopted in the first reading in January of this year.
