Earlier Wednesday, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow will take adequate measures in response to the extension of U.S. sanctions. He also said that Washington’s policy towards Russia is destructive.
On 20 December it became known about the extension of Washington’s sanctions against Moscow. In the sanctions list were seven additional citizens, 26 organizations and two tankers.
The day before the European Union formally extended until 31 July 2017 expires in January of next year, economic sanctions against Russia.
In 2014, several countries, including the USA and member States of the European Union, began to introduce restrictive measures against Russia, linking them with the entry of the Crimea into the Russian Federation, and then the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine.
