Obama banned drilling in the Arctic and the Atlantic
President Barack Obama has banned oil and gas in vast areas of the Arctic and the Atlantic. This was reported on the White house website.
In a statement, the White house says the US has identified the bulk of its territory in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans to restricted areas.
In turn, Canada will invalidate the oil and gas production in all of its Arctic waters.
In addition, the statement clarifies that this decision will be reviewed every five years.
