Deputies from the liberal democratic party carried the state Duma a package of bills that are introduced into Russia the post of Commissioner for the protection of animals, reports RIA “Novosti”.
“It is proposed to establish the post of Commissioner for the protection of animals in Russia, which will defend the rights of animal owners to develop and submit proposals on elimination of gaps in the legislation in the sphere of protection and safe living”, — stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
It is noted that the implementation of this project will require additional budget funds.
Earlier in Russia there were some resonant incidents of animal abuse. In particular, another scandal about the torture of the animal erupted in Khabarovsk.
