For caused first loved ones a beating now will not pursue criminal and administrative paper. Repeated actions committed within a year will be considered a criminal offense. Beatings are acts that cause physical pain but not leading to short-term health and disability.
The bill is intended to eliminate ambiguous interpretation of the provisions of the Criminal code. In the summer of 2016, a law was passed that transferred the crime on a number of articles in the category of administrative offences. According to the document, the beatings inflicted long people have been excluded from the criminal code, if the offence is committed for the first time. While similar acts against relatives remained a criminal offense.
Earlier in January, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that it is inappropriate “to identify family violence as some minor manifestations, something of an overblown” and called on to distinguish between “family relationships and relapse”.
