In the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg before the first meeting of the spring session, which will take place on Wednesday, January 18, will host a prayer service on the successful holding of the legislative season. This was reported by the deputies, having received an invitation to participate in the service in the house Church of the Mariinsky Palace, according to “Fontanka” on Monday, January 16.
The rector of the house Church Sachs, Archpriest Peter Mukhin confirmed “Fontanka”, scheduled for Wednesday divine Liturgy, but noted that it is carried out almost daily. The priest said that on 18 January, the service will be dedicated to the upcoming feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
“Anyone who comes, I wish peace and prudence,” said Mukhin.
It is possible that in the course of the event will touch upon the issue of transfer of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) St. Isaac’s Cathedral, actively supported by the speaker of the legislative Assembly Vyacheslav Makarov, the newspaper notes.
Earlier on Monday it became known that at Yalta, January 19, the feast of the Baptism will be held a prayer service on the preservation and development of Crimean resorts. On 10 January the authorities of St. Petersburg decided to transfer to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Russian Orthodox Church. Creative Union of Museum workers of St. Petersburg condemned the transfer of the Cathedral to the jurisdiction of the ROC.
