Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor
Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Ekaterinburg are in the lead in Russia on number of HIV and AIDS. About this informed the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, her words leads RIA Novosti.
During the youth forum “Territory meanings on the Klyazma” she said, Kemerovo took the first place.
Popov also noted the importance of a comprehensive awareness of children and young people about infectious diseases with the goal of preventing HIV, and to do so not only in schools but also in kindergartens.
“We need to tell people how not to get sick — any infections. Each infection has its mode of transmission (…). The main thing — to convey how to maintain their health,” she said.
In November 2016, the Minister of health Veronika Skvortsova said that in 10 Russian regions, there is a critical incidence of HIV. She noted that the virus is spreading across the country unevenly: the performance is directly dependent on the activity of drug trafficking. In 2015, the Minister noted that the situation could spiral out of control by 2020.
According to the head of the Federal AIDS centre Vadim Pokrovsky, Russia was 850 thousand HIV-infected, and antiretroviral therapy to only 260 thousand patients. All infected with this virus more than a million people in the country.
