American in Iran sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage
US citizen sentenced by the court of first instance of Iran to 10 years of imprisonment, official spokesman of the judiciary of Iran Gholam Hossein Mohseni Aggei. He did not name the convicted, reports Reuters.
“This man, having dual citizenship, including US citizenship and citizenship of another country, entered Iran with a mission, but was identified and arrested by the security services. The court of first instance sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment with right to appeal”, — he said.
According to him, the detainee “had received direct instructions from the United States.”
