KB Strelka in working with AHML has developed a “quality Index of the urban environment”, according to which the most convenient among Russian cities in Moscow. As writes on Wednesday, July 12, the newspaper “Izvestia”, the Ministry of construction is willing to use the ranking in the priority project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”.
The evaluation was conducted among the 90 settlements according to the indices of “Housing and surrounding space”, “Street infrastructure, Landscaping and water areas and Social and leisure area”, “Public-business infrastructure” and “city space”. In the end, the least comfortable, the experts acknowledged the urban environment of Volgograd, gaining 32 percent of the maximum possible number of points. The capital has managed to take the lead with a score of 73 percent.
The authors of the rating emphasize that high rates of capital are not associated with the financial capabilities of the city, and with an elaborate and purposeful work on creation of comfortable conditions for life. In particular, St. Petersburg and Kazan surpassed Moscow in terms of “Socio-leisure area”, nearly 20 points ahead of the leader.
