Lavrov: Russia hopes that the US will respect its obligations under departmenet of the Russian Federation
According to the head of the Russian foreign Ministry, if this happens, Moscow will take retaliatory measures.
BRUSSELS, July 11. /TASS/. Russia hopes that the US will respect its international obligations under the Russian departmenti. This was stated on Tuesday the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, commenting on the situation around the seizure of Washington by the Russian diplomatic property in the United States.
“I hope that the US as a country that has always advocated the rule of law, respects its international obligations”, — said the Minister.

At the end of December 2016, the US administration imposed new sanctions against Russia, declaring persona non grata 35 employees of the Embassy in Washington and Consulate General in San Francisco, as well as with two Russian diplomatic villas in the States of new York and Maryland. Access to the entire Russian staff to these two complexes were banned. Washington tied the sanctions to hacker attacks on American political institutions, which are leaving the U.S. government directly blamed Russia.
The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in this regard, it was noted that these objects have always enjoyed diplomatic immunity, and therefore their removal is a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of 1961.
