Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the background of the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the USA posted on his Twitter account with criticism of the outgoing administration of us President Barack Obama.
“It is sad that the Obama administration, which started life with the restoration of cooperation, ends its anti-Russian agony,” wrote the head of government on Friday, December 30.
He also added the message with the abbreviation RIP, traditionally meaning “Rest in peace” (Rest in Peace) and often used as epitaphs on the tombstones.
The day before, on December 29, it became known that the United States decided to send 35 Russian diplomats and close access to two objects used by the Russian workers in new York and Maryland. What those objects are, is not specified. According to a senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, it was “a response to a campaign of harassment of American diplomats in Moscow from the Russian authorities”.
Also, US President Barack Obama imposed sanctions against Russia in connection with the alleged cyber-attacks against the electoral system. Under sanctions including the Federal security service (FSB) and Main intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces. In addition, restrictions are imposed against several organizations and individuals.
