In the parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE demanded that Russia give Crimea

General Committee on political Affairs and security of the parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe (OSCE) adopted a draft resolution in which urge Russia to abandon the decision on accession of Crimea. On Friday, July 7, RIA Novosti reported.

The Russian delegation voted against the draft. To discuss it will the whole Assembly, then parliamentarians are expected to vote for the final Declaration, it will include all the resolutions.

The author of the project was the Deputy head of the delegation of Sweden Margareta Zederfeldt. The document is called “Enhancing mutual confidence and cooperation for peace and prosperity in the OSCE region”.

The text of the resolution, the organization condemned the use of pressure, harassment and intimidation of members of the special OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine, arguing that this occurs “in certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions under the control of the Russian hybrid forces”. According to the draft, Russia must “refrain from aggressive practices and to cancel the decision on the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”.

The author of the document also urges to stop military actions in Ukraine. Russian parliamentarians in turn emphasized that the term “annexation” is inappropriate, as it annexed the Crimea according to the results of the popular vote.

The session of PA OSCE held in Minsk from 5 to 9 July.
