Russians have a record increase in mortgage terms

RIA Novosti: the average mortgage term in Russia has grown to 250.9 months increased by 4.1 months, to a record 250.9 months, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Central Bank.

The average rate on housing loans in the country last month fell by 0.03 percentage points, to 7 , 7 percent, according to analysts of the Central Bank. The issuance of mortgages, meanwhile, reached its maximum level since June 2021. In just a month, Russians have issued 161.8 thousand loans for the purchase of housing (plus 2.6 percent compared to September). The total amount of mortgages increased by 5 percent, to 500.6 billion rubles.

Earlier in November, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina said that the regulator did not consider it necessary to extend the program of preferential mortgages in Russia. As Nabiullina noted, the Central Bank proposes to complete it on schedule, since in addition to preferential mortgages for new buildings, there are other mortgage programs in Russia for certain categories of citizens.
