An exhibition about nomads of the XXI century opened in Barnaul

The exhibition “Faces of nomadic culture in the XXI century” opened at Altai University in Barnaul at the Altai State University in Barnaul, as well as at the Kurmanzhan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by RIA FAN.

According to the material, the exposition consists of photographs of landscapes of the Kyrgyz mountains, yurts, utensils, traditional clothing and other items of nomadic life. All the pictures were taken by the participants of the expedition to Kyrgyzstan, which was organized by the director of the Institute of History and International Relations Ivan Nazarov.

According to the publication, ethnographers, ethnosociologists and museum staff from 12 universities in Russia and Kyrgyzstan took part in the trip. In the course of the research, scientists have identified and compared the nomadic traditions of the Altai and Turkic peoples of the Greater Altai with the traditions of the culture of the Kyrgyz nomads.

It is noted that in ten days the scientists covered more than three thousand kilometers and visited 14 settlements and high-mountainous camps.

Earlier in October, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan hosted the opening of the exhibition “Fancy Ornament Carpets”. Visitors were presented with classic works of carpet art from the museum's collection. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to conduct a museum and educational interactive program for children and master classes on creating souvenirs and small rugs on boards.
