In the article, the journalists named a way to securely send photos. Before you can share a photo, you need to go to the Photos app, select an image, swipe up and click the Edit button. In this section, it is worth choosing the item “No geolocation”. In this case, the uploaded photo will not have metadata.
To prevent the smartphone from recording shooting data, you need to go to the settings, select the “Privacy” section, go to the “Geolocation Services” subsection, find “Photos” and select the “Never” option.
