An operative who extorted 100 thousand rubles from a Russian woman was detained in the Moscow region, under the threat of arresting her son. On Friday, November 19, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the agency, a Russian policeman, along with accomplices who were not actually Interior Ministry officers, broke into a woman's apartment in the city of Dmitrov on November 15. He demanded money from her, explaining that if she did not pay, her son would be detained for selling drugs. The victim of the crime was not at a loss and turned to the law enforcement agencies.

The policeman was detained, a criminal case was opened against him under Article 286 (“Excessive powers”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Investigators are establishing the details of the incident. The question of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspect is being decided.

On November 11, it was reported that FSB officers detained an operative of the criminal investigation department of the Gelendzhik police, who fled from the investigation in the case of extortion of 1.7 million rubles from businessmen.
