Avakov said that Kyiv has a plan to return Crimea and Donbas
KYIV, Feb 26 — RIA Novosti. Kiev has a specific plan for the return of Crimea and Donbass under control, and in this respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine is not the subject of the discussions, said interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
“We have a plan that will be implemented, and it absolutely is not affiliated with the slightest concessions”, — said Avakov in an interview to Ukrainian TV channel “1+1” on Sunday evening.
Avakov added that also among those who are “working on the situation.” In his opinion, the issue of returning Crimea and the Donbass can be resolved quickly and diplomatically, not militarily.
Previously, the newspaper the New York Times reported that Ukrainian MP Andrey Artemenko suggested that the administration of the President of the United States a plan for the lifting of sanctions against Russia. Michael Flynn, whose office was handed over proposals for settling the Russian-Ukrainian relations, a week later he resigned from the post of assistant to the President on national security. Crimea became a Russian region after held there in March 2014 referendum in which 96.77% of voters of the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of residents of Sevastopol voted for joining Russian Federation. Ukraine still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory.
Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said earlier that the question itself is about the surrender of Russia in the lease of the Crimea, its the same region, represented in the media “plan” for lifting sanctions against Russia are absurd. He noted that Moscow did not know about any plans, and in addition, there is an understanding that political and diplomatic solution of the Ukrainian problem is possible only on the basis of the Minsk agreements.
