Rosprirodnadzor: “our big Chinese brother” vacuums everything that can be obtained 
Head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova said in Russia red book resources. This is reported by RBC.
“Let's be clear – our“ big Chinese brother ”just vacuums everything that can be obtained,” she said. The official explained that she has to give permission for the export of musk deer, pine cones and chaga mushroom.
Among other things, China is the largest consumer of wood in the world. According to the UN, China accounts for up to 39 percent of all world timber purchases, while Russia is one of the leaders in the export market. However, deliveries often follow gray and black schemes. Illegal logging and further sale to Chinese consumers is one of the key problems of Russian Siberia and Russia's bordering regions with China.
In 2019, amid large wildfires in Siberia, the Russian authorities did not rule out the introduction of a complete ban on the supply China. Then the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dmitry Kobylkin emphasized that either Beijing will join in solving the problem of illegal logging, or will be deprived of the opportunity to buy timber. However, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov objected that the ban looks inappropriate and, moreover, contradicts the rules of the World Trade Organization.
