The expansion of NATO has led to an unprecedented increase of tension in Europe, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, speaking at a security conference in Munich.
“NATO expansion has led to unprecedented over the last 30 years the level of tension in Europe,” he said.
He recalled that “this year marks 20 years since the signing in Paris of the founding act, NATO and Russia, and 15 years since the Rome Declaration on the new quality of Russian-NATO relations.”
