The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov discusses bilateral cooperation with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the Ministerial round of consultations of the “big twenty”.
“We communicate regularly, using dvustoronnie visits and multilateral events”, — said Lavrov in the beginning of the meeting.
The Minister added that the meeting on the sidelines of the Ministerial consultations of the “twenty” is a good opportunity to see how are the agreements that were reached during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan.
“In 2017, has held many meetings on promoting the practical aspect of these agreements, he said. In January Moscow visited the Japanese Parliament. There were several contacts between Deputy Ministers of foreign Affairs”.
Lavrov expressed confidence that a good pace of bilateral contacts “will allow to prepare a rich program for the forthcoming year, contacts between the presidents of Russia (Vladimir Putin) and the Prime Minister of Japan (Shinzo Abe)”.
