Jean-Marc Ayrault
Attempts by the US to divide Europe doomed to fail as Washington is unable to compensate for the benefits that EU offers to its members. This was stated by the foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault in an interview with Journal du Dimanche.
“You can bet that any attempt to divide the Europeans and to manage them won’t work. United States have absolutely no way to compensate for the advantages offered by the European Union”, — quotes Minister Reuters.
Ayrault noted that even the Prime Minister of great Britain Theresa may, despite the results of the referendum on secession of the United Kingdom from the EU, said the President of the United States Donald Trump the need to have Europe as a “strong partner”.
The foreign Minister also stressed that France will not tolerate any external interference in the presidential elections from Russia, and the USA. “Russia should be the first to declare that non-interference in internal Affairs is a fundamental principle of international relations. And I’ll take it. France, the French will not stand for someone dictating their choice,” said Ayrault, reiterating that the stability of Europe in the interests of Moscow and Washington’s interests.
15 February EU high representative for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini said that the United States may lose status as a global leader. In her opinion, today more than ever, American society is polarized and has a serious potential for conflict.
In recent months, Russia is regularly accused of meddling in the elections in the US and some European countries. Appropriate approvals, in particular, contained in the published January 6, declassified part of the report prepared by the Central intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of investigation and the national security Agency. Moscow these accusations consistently rejects.
