Major APU left the Ukrainian army and defected to the “enemy” of the militia DND. He told in interview to the newspaper “Izvestia“, why he made such a choice. The conversation with him took place on the front line, the headquarters of the 1st infantry battalion of the militia DND.
According to major, he arrived in the conflict zone in 2014 as an officer of APU with his battalion. It struck him that what is happening in the Donbass. The soldier realized that the Ukrainian people are killed here and decided to go to the army of the DNI.
“Came here as an officer with his battalion, came to the ATO zone in 2014. And saw that the Ukrainian people are killed here. Then found common ground with the army DNR and moved to the other side. Now fighting here, because it’s true, because the killing of civilians in Donetsk”, – he said.
The major said later, he moved to the DNI wife and children but his parents remained in the Ukraine, where he opened a criminal case.
