The former head of the Kirov region Belykh was transferred to “Matrosskaya Tishina”
MOSCOW, 15 Feb — RIA Novosti. Former Governor of Kirov region Nikita Belykh accused of receiving bribes, has been transferred from the SIZO “Lefortovo” in hospital “sailor’s silence” because of health problems, reported RIA Novosti his lawyer Andrei Screens.
He recalled that the decision to transfer the ex-Governor in the “Matrosskaya Tishina” was made in late January.
“Today I visited this jail and I have confirmed that he is in hospital “sailor’s silence”, — said the defender.
According to him, in the prison hospital is planned to conduct a comprehensive medical examination of White, which is very often complains of the condition.
“In January his condition deteriorated sharply. In the view of protection, there were problems with diagnosis and treatment — therapy had the desired effect,” — said the lawyer. He is going to see how it will be implemented by Medicaid from jail, and then decide whether to request a transfer to a civil hospital.
Against Whites were prosecuted for taking bribes in the amount of 400 thousand euros. At the request of investigators, he was caught red-handed 24 June 2016 in one of the Moscow restaurants. White could not explain how he was caught in a restaurant with bundles of cash, but the bribe itself is not guilty and intends to prove his innocence in court.
Shortly after the arrest of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has removed White from office of the Governor in connection with loss of trust.
