General of the army Vladimir Isakov, it is possible to tell, the leader of the Russian army for the duration of the presidency of the main person serving in rear of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation — 11 years old. During this time, the office of the former Deputy defense Minister was marked by many innovations: from the idea of creating a unified logistic support of all power structures of the country to the initiative of introducing buffet to feed the military and the new uniforms.
In this he was greatly helped by the experience gained in Afghanistan. Few people know that in the mid 1980-ies he has been involved in more than 15 combat operations, one of which he was severely wounded and was on the verge of death. Military doctors later counted in his body 22 “the hole”…
ONCE IN BATTLE
He was born on 21 July 1950 in the village of Voskresenskoe, the Kaluga region in a peasant family. In 1970, after graduating from the Moscow military school of Civil defence, commanded the reconnaissance platoon, company. Then study at the Military Academy of logistics and transport, service in the rear of the group of Soviet forces in Germany and the Siberian military district.
In 1984 was followed by a new assignment — the post of Deputy chief of the rear of the fighting in Afghanistan 40-th army.
