BANGALORE, February 14. /TASS/. India extended a license to manufacture T-90S tanks.
This was reported by TASS Deputy Director of the FSMTC of Russia Vladimir Drozhzhov.
“The Russian side agreed to extend the term of the license for the production of tanks and we are ready to satisfy any request of our Indian partners regarding the increase in the production or supply of T-90S tanks,” said Drozdov.
The first contract for the supply of T-90 tanks was signed in 2001. According to the document, Corporation “Uralvagonzavod” had to put the Indian Ministry of defence 124 ready machines, as well as kits to build another 186 tanks.
In 2004 Russia and India signed an additional contract for the licensed production of thousands of T-90 tanks, and three years later entered into an agreement for the supply of 124 ready-made vehicles and knockdown kits for Assembly 223 tanks.
