Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin was not excessive optimism regarding the U.S. position on sanctions, RIA Novosti reported.
He noted that Moscow will consistently and convincingly convey their position on Crimea and Ukraine to the UN Security Council.
“I want to say that we never indulged in excessive optimism, and we talked about it from the beginning. Second, we certainly do not agree with this formulation, and we will continue very consistently and convincingly communicate our position to all the participants in the meetings of the UN security Council and our other partners, including to the permanent representative of the United States,” — said Peskov.
2 February speaking at a meeting of the UN security Council for the first time in the status of a permanent representative of the United States to the world organization Nikki Haley said that restrictive measures against Russia could be lifted only if the return Crimea to Ukraine.
