Forbes: mobile operators stopped connecting new subscribers to unlimited tariffs
Russian mobile operators “Vimpelcom” MegaFon ”and Tele2 stopped connecting new subscribers to tariffs with unlimited mobile Internet, MTS had this option on only two premium tariffs. Forbes writes about this.
Representatives of VimpelCom and MegaFon told the publication that their current tariff plans do not have such an option, Tele2 noted that the operator removed it many months ago. At the same time, the representative of MegaFon explained that after connecting, the subscriber can call the contact center and ask to connect to unlimited Internet, but the publication does not specify on what conditions.
At the same time, mobile operators noted that the lack of opportunity connection of unlimited tariffs does not apply to existing subscribers of current tariffs.
Earlier, the general director of TMT Consulting Konstantin Ankilov warned that more than half of corporate mobile numbers of Russians (16 million) may be disconnected from communication services after December 1. Disconnections can occur due to violation of the Law “On Communications”, which regulates the turnover of gray SIM cards. According to the amendments to the law introduced in December 2020, corporate subscribers must enter information about the end users of SIM cards into the unified identification and authentication system (ESIA) of the State Services portal. According to Ankilov, more than half of the customers of mobile operators have not yet done this.
