Chelyabinsk became the first city in the country where such a memorial was opened
A stele appeared in Chelyabinsk in memory of the labor valor of the city during the Great Patriotic War. This is reported by the local portal “Good News.” According to him, the Chelyabinsk region became the first region in the country where such a memorial was opened.
It is known that a unified architectural solution of the object was developed by the Russian Military-Historical Society. Despite this, each region could independently modify the composition of the monument. It is noted that the author of the project of the stele in Chelyabinsk was the sculptor-monumentalist Denis Stretovich.
“We are proud that during the war Chelyabinsk was proudly called Tankograd. But Tankograd is, first of all, people. Indeed, in those photographs that are located both on the stele and on the pylons around, we see women's faces, children's faces, ”said Texler.
So, for example, during wartime a resident of the city Lyudmila Zhuravleva, who turned 94, worked as a welder at the plant. The governor said that all residents of the city are proud of people like Lyudmila Zhuravleva. “Low bow to you,” he expressed his gratitude.
In September it became known that a memorial plaque was installed in Tomsk to prosecutors who took part in the Great Patriotic War. She was placed on the building of the regional prosecutor's office, located on Belinsky Street. The names of five former employees are printed on the memorial: Bataen Boris, Shkanov Evgeny, Vorobiev Marat, Iskovsky Ivan and Trifonov Vladimir.
