Hydrometeorological Center: Blizzard, snow and ice are expected in Moscow on December 1
Winter in Moscow will start with a sharp cold snap. According to the head of the laboratory of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Lyudmila Parshina, ice, snow and blizzard are expected on December 1, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.
Parshina warned Muscovites that the temperature on the first day of winter would drop to minus five degrees, and in the region – up to minus seven. She also added that the wind will be southwestern, with gusts of up to 17 meters per second.
The specialist noted that the cold snap will pass quickly – on December 2, the temperature in the capital will rise to plus five degrees.
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, warned the inhabitants of the European part of Russia about the “uneven winter.” According to him, there will be many thaws and frosts up to 20 degrees below zero.
