In Belarus, the physical protection complex of the second unit of the BelNPP was prepared for operation
full power. The Ministry of Energy of Belarus reported that on November 26, the interdepartmental commission signed an act on readiness for operation of the complex of structures for the physical protection of the second power unit of the nuclear power plant.
The signing of the act means a transition to the preparation of the physical start-up of the second power unit of the nuclear power plant, as well as the transfer of the protection of the nuclear power plant to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Belarusian security forces will soon take over the prepared posts on the territory of the station.

The modern system of physical protection of the station includes many components, including communication and information protection means, checkpoints, means for transporting special cargo, video surveillance throughout the facility, as well as controlled physical barriers.
On November 17 at the BelNPP, the first power unit of the station was automatically disconnected from the network. According to the Minister of Energy of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, the automation worked due to an incorrect signal.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is being completed in the town of Ostrovets by specialists from Rosatom. BelNPP will operate with two Russian VVER-1200 power units. For its construction, Russia allocated Minsk a loan of $ 10 billion, on which the rate was recently lowered to 3.3 percent. After the commissioning of the first power unit, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko declared the country a “nuclear power”.
