The State Duma proposed to deprive a passport in only one case

Deputy of the State Duma Zatulin proposed to give the court the right to invalidate a passport Konstantin Zatulin commented on the government's bill to expand the list of reasons for the withdrawal of a passport. He suggested granting this right only to the court, RIA Novosti reports.

The State Duma deputy explained that the initiative on the grounds for invalidating Russian passports should consider the issue of the procedure for withdrawing the document. According to the politician, it is possible to deprive a passport only in one case – by a court decision, since in other cases the Russian himself may remain guilty.

“Therefore, I insist that this cannot be without a court decision. Moreover, when a passport is withdrawn without a court decision, its owner remains guilty. And if the passport is really issued illegally, and who issued it, why is it not being investigated? ” possible changes or additions to the initiative.

Earlier it became known that the State Duma considered in the first reading a bill expanding the list of reasons for the seizure of a passport. It is noted that the government will establish the procedure and terms for the seizure of the document in a separate by-law.
