Weather hazard declared in Moscow and Moscow region

Due to wind and wet snow in Moscow and the region, a yellow level of weather hazard was declared

Due to wind and wet snow in Moscow and the area Hydrometeorological Center has declared a yellow level of weather hazard. This follows from the data of the forecast map on the website of the institution.

“Degree of intensity of hazardous phenomena: yellow – the weather is potentially dangerous,” reports the Hydrometeorological Center. In Moscow, wind gusts of up to 15-20 meters per second are expected from 10:00 Saturday to 4:00 Sunday, in the Moscow region – from 9:00 Saturday to 5:00 Sunday.

The hydrometeorological center also warned of wet snow and ice in the capital and the region from Saturday night to Sunday evening.

Earlier, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned Moscow residents about a record sleet and stormy winds. He noted that Muscovites will experience the strongest wet snowfall in the last 73 years.
