Psaki: White House welcomes Putin's words on peaceful resolution of conflict in Donbass

“We & nbsp; welcome the statement of President Putin on & nbsp; the need to resolve the conflict in & nbsp; Donbass peacefully on the basis of mine agreements & nbsp;. We & nbsp; support the intensification of efforts to & nbsp; resolve the situation within the & nbsp; framework of the Minsk agreement and & nbsp; urge immediate steps to be taken to & nbsp; restore the ceasefire regime & nbsp; & nbsp; & mdash; said Psaki.

Earlier, the plenipotentiary representative of Russia in the & nbsp; contact group for the & nbsp; settlement of the situation in & nbsp; eastern Ukraine Boris Gryzlov said that & nbsp; Moscow urges Kiev to begin negotiations with the & nbsp; self-proclaimed LPR and & nbsp; DPR on a & nbsp; political settlement in & nbsp; reports Donbass, & quot;

On November 18 & nbsp; Vladimir Putin at the & nbsp; expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & nbsp; RF noted that & nbsp; the Ukrainian crisis is still far from & nbsp; over and & nbsp; remains one of the & nbsp; most acute for & nbsp; Russia. He added that & nbsp; partners in the & nbsp; Normandy Quartet & nbsp; & mdash; Germany and & nbsp; France & nbsp; & mdash; in & nbsp; in words they do not & nbsp; challenge the meaning of the Minsk agreements, but & nbsp; in & nbsp; indulge Kiev's course on & nbsp; their & nbsp; dismantling.

According to the & nbsp; head of state, mediation efforts in the & nbsp; contact group and & nbsp; Normandy format are important to persistently and & nbsp; vigorously continue, since there are no other international mechanisms for promoting an internal Ukrainian settlement & nbsp; there is no & nbsp; alternative to the implementation of the Minsk agreements themselves in full & nbsp;

Since & nbsp; 2014, the Kiev authorities are conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and & nbsp; new government in & nbsp; Ukraine. Given this, Kiev blames Moscow for the & nbsp; situation.

Russia has repeatedly stated that & nbsp; is not & nbsp; is a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict. Issues of its settlement are discussed in & nbsp; Minsk and & nbsp; Normandy formats & nbsp; & mdash; with & nbsp; participation of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, France, Germany.
