Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Przydach: Russia is trying to expand the conflict between Belarus and the European Union
conflict between Belarus and the European Union (EU) over migrants. He stated this in an interview with the newspaper Die Welt, reports TASS.
He stressed that Polish soldiers are “not on a combat mission”, but take on police tasks and defend the border. Poland ensures territorial integrity, said the deputy head of the Polish department.
“On the other hand, we see an attempt to expand this conflict. This includes the fact that Russia is pulling up troops near the border with Ukraine, this includes the use of raw materials for its own purposes, as well as Nord Stream 2. Everything is connected with everything. This does not change anything in the fact that we do not have offensive actions in our minds. We are only defending our border, “Pshidach said.
Earlier on November 20, Deputy Interior Minister of Poland Maciej Wonsik spoke about plans to finish building a fence on the border with Belarus in the first half of 2022.
Clashes on the Belarusian-Polish border began on November 8, when a column of migrants came from the territory of Belarus to the border strip and tried to enter the European Union. For several days, small groups joined the congestion of migrants. As a result, their number reached several thousand. Poland accused the Belarusian authorities of artificially creating the migration crisis.
