Ukraine and the United States agreed to work together to oppose Russia

Ukrainian Defense Minister Reznikov and Nuland discussed counteraction to threats from Russia

According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Reznikov together with the Ambassador of Kiev to Washington Oksana Markarova met with Nuland, during which they exchanged views on new threats caused by actions of Russia. In addition, the parties talked about various aspects of the development of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

Reznikov also said that the common task of the two states is to do everything so that the losses from a possible escalation for the “aggressor” are unacceptable. According to him, this will require the completion of reforms, consistency and availability of resources.

Earlier it was reported that Reznikov and members of the Ukrainian delegation met with US Senator James Ingof during a working visit to Washington. During the meeting, they discussed the situation on the Ukrainian border and in the “temporarily occupied by Russia” territories, and also touched upon the topic of threats “arising from the de facto Anschluss of Belarus.” Reznikov stressed that Kiev expects Washington to provide a “stronger position” on security issues and asked for more American military assistance.
