Tourists who arrived in another country by mistake realized their mistake in a taxi

Daily Mail: tourists flew to Greece by mistake and learned about it from a local taxi driver

A couple of tourists got confused at the airport and flew away by mistake on another flight – the travelers realized their mistake only after arriving in another country. The Daily Mail writes about this.

Humaira and Farooq Shaikh were supposed to go on vacation to Spanish Seville from London Stansted Airport – a ticket and plane tickets were presented to them by their son. After passing the registration and pre-flight procedures at the air harbor, the tourists arrived safely at the resort. The misunderstanding was revealed when a local taxi driver informed the couple that they were in Greece.

According to the tourists, when they turned to the airline employees at the Zakynthos airport for help, the representatives of the carrier ridiculed them. The British were offered to wait for the return flight back to London in five days and paid them one free night at the hotel. During the remaining time of their stay in Greece, the Sheikh couple was forced to pay about 1.1 thousand pounds (107.8 thousand rubles).

It is noted that due to incorrect registration in the airline's system, the couple almost missed the return departure to the UK. The tourists' son admitted that he was deeply outraged and shocked by what had happened. According to the man, the airline not only did not apologize for the negligent work of the employees, but also refused to reimburse the costs of air tickets and a hotel in Seville.

The tourists later explained their mistake by the fact that the flight attendants did not inform the destination on board. as the flight departed with a delay. The representative of the airline, in turn, noted that each passenger is responsible for boarding the correct plane.

Earlier in August, an American tourist bought a plane ticket with her last money and made a mistake with the year of departure – she found out about it in an hour before the flight. As a result, the airline offered the girl free help and paid for her a ticket for the next flight to the USA.
