The French leader accused London of provocations and reproached the British authorities for their unwillingness to support the process of family reunification. At the same time, he recalled the need to strengthen cooperation to resolve the migration crisis.

Macron listed the main steps that need to be taken to resolve the refugee situation. Among the important measures, he named the prevention of the construction of long-term camps at the borders, the elimination of networks of accomplices of illegal migration and work with countries from which most of the refugees leave.

Earlier, the head of the British Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the Schengen Agreement, which abolished national borders between countries -members, has resulted in France being flooded with migrants trying to reach the United Kingdom. According to her, illegal immigrants use all possible means to swim across the English Channel and end up in the UK, receive refugee status and benefits there.
