Investigators opened cases against prisoners of two Saratov colonies

The convicts of the Saratov colonies were prosecuted due to attacks on employees and threats to prisoners prisoner IK-2 became defendants in criminal cases on the disorganization of the work of the colony. This was reported to “Lente.ru” in the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).

It was established that on November 2, a 32-year-old convict serving time in colony No. 2, during a check in a cell, attacked two employees, beat them on the hands and pushed them away with his shoulder, hindering work. A case was opened against him under Part 2 of Article 321 (“The use of non-life-threatening violence against a colony employee”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Violations were also recorded in IK-13. There, on Tuesday, November 16, five convicts threatened reprisals against other prisoners collaborating with the administration.

The ICR claims that the colony workers prevented the violence. A criminal case has already been initiated under part 1 of Article 321 (“Threat of violence against convicts out of revenge for the assistance of the administration”) of the Criminal Code.

Earlier, the Federal Penitentiary Service reported that checks and control of the regime continued in the correctional institutions of the Saratov region. The former leadership of the regional department made “serious mistakes in the organization of supervision over convicts.”
