Zenit defeated Nizhny Novgorod in the RPL match thanks to three goals by Artem Dzyuba 
Zenit won a crushing victory over Nizhny Novgorod “with a score of 5: 1 in the 15th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by the Lenta.ru correspondent.
The match took place in St. Petersburg. The score in the first half was opened by the Brazilian midfielder Malcolm of the hosts, completing the combination of partners. Then, in the 34th minute, the striker of the blue-white-blue Artem Dziuba scored. Aleksandr Kerzhakov's defender Aleksey Kozlov responded to his accurate shot.
The second ball performed by Dziuba at the end of the half allowed Zenit to leave for the break with a two-goal advantage. By this time, the guests were already in the minority: Petrus Boumal was sent off the field. In the 59th minute, Dziuba scored a hat-trick and thus helped his team defeat the opponent. The fifth goal against Nizhny Novgorod was poisoned by Dmitry Chistyakov in the 87th minute.
Earlier, the president of Ural, Grigory Ivanov, said that the club could rent Dziuba. According to the functionary, playing for Yekaterinburg would bring the striker closer to returning to the Russian national team.
Kerzhakov took over the leadership of Nizhny Novgorod in the summer of 2021. The club signed a contract with the former player of the Russian national team after entering the RPL.
Kerzhakov is known for his performances for Zenit. Together with the club, he became the champion of Russia three times. With 161 goals scored, he is the top scorer in the history of blue-white-blue.
Zenit has strengthened its leadership in the RPL standings. After 15 rounds, Semak's team has 33 points.
