Turkish media reports death of Islamic preacher Gulen

Several Turkish media outlets reported on the poisoning of Islamic religious preacher Gulen

Islamic religious preacher and public figure Fethullah was poisoned on the night of November 17 in Gulen , according to Turkish media outlets, in particular the opposition news portal Oda TV. Along with him, one of his supporters, who was on an estate in Pennsylvania, allegedly died – he committed suicide.

A number of media outlets refute the news of the death of the head of the Turkish opposition organization FETO. For example, journalist Emre Uslu wrote on his Twitter, citing personal sources of information that the data on Gulen's death are fake. The public figure's close associate Cevdet Türkyolu, in turn, published a video where he says that the preacher is alive, and the rumors of an attempt on his life are fiction.

On July 15, 2016, an attempted coup d'état took place in Turkey, as a result of which killed 248 people, not counting the putschists themselves, more than 2.7 thousand were injured. The Turkish authorities blamed the incident on the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen, who acted through the opposition organization FETO headed by him. The preacher insisted on his innocence in the coup attempt.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared ambassadors of ten countries persona non grata, calling on Ankara to release the activist Osman Kavala. The head of state gave a corresponding order to the country's Foreign Ministry. We are talking about representatives of diplomatic missions from Germany, Sweden, USA, France, Finland, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and New Zealand.
