Japan will distribute money to the population just like that

The Japanese government will give families $ 875 each to stimulate the economy

coronavirus. For example, direct financial assistance will be provided to the population. Families with children under 18 will simply receive checks for 100 thousand yen ($ 875 or 63 thousand rubles each), writes Nikkei.

This new round of incentives came out for a total of 56 trillion yen (487 billion dollars ). The funds will be raised through a bond issue. Small businesses will be given grants worth 2.5 million yen ($ 21.9 thousand). According to the authorities' forecast, the country's economy should feel the stimulus from direct payments already in the first quarter of next year.

In April last year, the government allocated 48.4 trillion yen ($ 423 billion) for economic recovery, and in December – another 40 trillion yen ($ 350 billion). Experts fear that inflation will rise and that such measures will not be enough to significantly increase consumer demand.

In May last year, Japanese families already received checks for 100,000 yen, with about 70 percent of these funds did not spend on goods and services, but put them in banks on deposits.

In the third quarter, Japan's GDP fell by three percent compared to the same period last year.

Earlier it was reported, that among the recipients of gratuitous payments in Japan were residents of the country held in prisons. Even those sentenced to death can count on benefits.
