Kazakhstan lawyer Kaimakov: Russian Balashov paid for the publication of materials about himself 
Kazakhstan lawyer Askar Kaimakov accused Lenta.ru about the trial of the Russian businessman Viktor Balashov. The lawyer expressed his opinion on Facebook.
Kaimakov said that “heavy artillery was launched against him” and posted links to two publications of Lenta.ru about the Balashov trial: one of them is devoted to the businessman's statement about attempts to pressure the court, the second – criticism of the coverage of the process in the Russian media by Kaymakov himself. According to the lawyer, Balashov paid for the publication of materials about himself. “Balashov and his employers from Moscow did not skimp on publications on Lenta.ru,” wrote the lawyer.
In the comments, the lawyer's subscribers believed that the publications of Lenta.ru incite ethnic hatred. Kaimakov himself did not agree with this opinion.

Earlier, Kaimakov accused the Russian media of wanting to “play the card“ Russian people are offended ”” because of the coverage of the Balashov trial. He did not name specific publications, but in another publication he mentioned that Balashov's words about a negative attitude towards Russians in Kazakhstan were “immediately relayed by the Lenta.ru publication.”
Viktor Balashov, who worked in Kazakhstan in a position the top manager of the largest Russian manufacturer of workwear Vostok-Service, was the victim of a business scandal between the company's management in the person of Dmitry Golovnev and local partner Nursultan Shokanov. In September, the Kazakh authorities placed the Russian in a pre-trial detention center, and during the last court hearing, the prosecutor's office requested 11 years in prison for him.
According to Balashov's mother, the defense was able to fully prove the fabrication of the criminal case against her son, but the chances of winning are very small. At the same time, she pointed out that the investigation and Shokanov himself, who allegedly belongs to the clan of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is constantly putting pressure on Viktor.
