Telegram will share advertising revenues with the administrators of the messenger channels

The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, explained on his channel how advertising will be arranged in the messenger. According to him, the company will share the proceeds with the administrators of the channels on which the advertisements are displayed.

“The advertisements are currently in test mode and are not available to everyone. Once they are fully launched and allow Telegram to cover its core costs, we plan to start sharing advertising revenues with the administrators of the channels displaying sponsored posts – because it's fair, ”it said.

He noted that advertising in the form of regular messages was placed on a number of channels in the messenger, and expressed the hope that the innovations will be convenient for people, and will also contribute to the promotion of channels and bots. In addition, he emphasized that the content of advertising messages will be based solely on the topics of the channels in which they will be located, and advertisers will not receive personal data of users and their requests. Advertising will be displayed only in large channels, and will also not be intrusive, Durov promised.

Earlier it became known that Russians began to complain about the dominance of advertising in Telegram. As Roskachestvo warned, such ads can be dangerous: often, under the guise of native ads, a popular messenger promotes “info-gypsy”.
