At the same time, Venediktova stressed that all the accused are on the run, and most of them are hiding in Russia. The Prosecutor General also added that Ukrainian law enforcement officers do not hope for the extradition of the defendants by Moscow, but at the same time intend to continue working on bringing them to justice.

Earlier, the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced the completion of the investigation of the criminal case on the dispersal of Euromaidan in 2014. His defendants are accused of organizing illegal obstruction of rallies, premeditated killings, causing grievous bodily harm and organizing a terrorist act.

In the winter of 2013-2014, mass protests, also known as Euromaidan, took place in Ukraine. Their result was the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych from the presidency, then he fled to Russia. During clashes between protesters and security officials in Kiev, more than 100 people were killed on both sides. The new Ukrainian government blamed the Berkut special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs responsible for the violence at the rallies. His former employees deny any guilt.
