Turkmen students threatened with expulsion for trying to leave for the USA

In Turkmenabat, students of the pedagogical institute were asked not to use social networks them a deduction for trying to leave for the United States. This was reported by the Chronicle of Turkmenistan Telegram channel.

It is noted that a meeting dedicated to the moral character of students was held at the university. The event was attended by representatives of the city administration and the prosecutor's office.

During the meeting, the rector of the institute said that recently three students were caught committing acts defaming the title of a Turkmen student. In particular, two girls were detained by the police for prostitution, and one young man for theft.

A representative of the prosecutor's office spoke about the negative impact of foreign Internet publications and social networks on young people and asked students not to use such resources and VPN and not bring mobile phones to class.

In his closing remarks, the rector also drew attention to the popularity of American green cards among students and threatened students with expulsion for trying to leave the country.

Earlier it became known that the Turkmen special services began to conduct educational conversations with citizens wishing to leave for the United States. According to media reports, employees of the Ministry of National Security began to track those who are trying to apply for participation in the green card lottery and come to their homes.
