The number of hospitalized students after a party in Kazan increased again – to 15. About this with reference to the chief toxicologist of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan Aliya Nasibullina, Interfax reports.
13 people with methanol poisoning are in Kazan, one victim – in Bashkiria, and another girl – in intensive care in Moscow.
Earlier it was reported about 12 victims.
Young people mistakenly drank non-freezing liquid. The students took a bottle of liquid from the trunk instead of a container of alcohol, then added flavors to it and drank. The analysis showed the presence of methanol in the liquid.
The incident took place in the village of Salmachi. A group of 19 people, ages 20 to 22, were vacationing in a cottage and drinking a five-liter canister of unmarked liquid. Most of them were hospitalized on November 16 with signs of methanol poisoning. Several of them are in intensive care.
