AfD member Breininger: reasons for the delay in certification of Nord Stream 2 are political 
Member of the German party Alternative for Germany AfD) Albert Breininger said that the delay in certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline operator may be due to political reasons. He told RIA Novosti about it.
According to him, the decision of the German regulator to suspend certification is due to the desire to gain time for the formation of a new government coalition of Germany. At the same time, Breininger noted that in this situation it is difficult to say which component prevails – politics or the German bureaucracy. He also added that the regulator probably found a formal reason for the refusal.
In addition, the German politician stressed that at the moment there are no signs of a complete refusal of Germany from Nord Stream 2, because in There are significant forces in the country that are interested in the successful implementation of the project.
Earlier, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, said that Germany had not yet made political statements to Russia in connection with the suspension of certification of Nord Stream 2. “So far, with regard to the official position, primarily of Germany, which is the recipient of this project, we have not heard any political statements in this regard,” the diplomat said. He noted that the Kremlin would not like to see political motives in Berlin's actions.
On November 16, the German Federal Grid Agency notified Gazprom and other parties to the Nord Stream 2 agreement that reasons.
