Attal: Paris took note of the decision to suspend Nord Stream 2 certification on Wednesday, November 17, he reacted to the decision of the German regulator to suspend the certification of the operator of the Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2”. RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, Paris took note of this decision. Attal added that it does not require comments from the French side.
Earlier, Germany suspended the certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. As the Minister of Economy of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany Sven Schulze noted, the decision to suspend the certification of the gas pipeline threatens production losses and higher prices.
Sources in the German government noted that the launch of the gas pipeline could be postponed until March 2022 from – for problems with certification. They also indicated that Gazprom needed to create a subsidiary of the Swiss operator of the Nord Stream 2 AG project, and then transfer property and rights in Germany to it. Only after that, the regulator will be ready to resume the certification process in order to then submit it to the European Commission.
