Ilya Kivu was deprived of the right to the award weapon, issued to him in 2015. This was announced on Facebook by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, who signed the corresponding decree.

“Everyone should remember that a weapon is a responsibility. And to have an award weapon is a great honor and no one has the right to defile this honor with unworthy behavior! ”The official explained his decision. Monastyrsky stressed that the security of citizens and the honor of the state are in the first place.

Earlier, Kivu was expelled from the Opposition Platform – For Life (Opposition Platform – For Life) party. The deputy was detained by security officials in Kiev. Prior to that, a criminal case on treason was opened against him in Ukraine.

The reason for the investigation against the deputy was his video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In it, Kiva congratulated the head of state on his birthday and called him the leader of a “friendly people” and a person who writes “a new history of Slavic peace and unity.”
