The not guilty verdict of the official accused of murdering his mistress will be appealed

The Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office is preparing an appeal against the verdict of the Podolsk City Court, which acquitted the Russian official on the basis of a jury verdict. They found the defendant not guilty of the murder of 39-year-old deputy head of the Public Chamber of the Ramensky District, Evgenia Isaenkova.

On October 27, after the jury's verdict, judge Diana Almaeva ordered his release from custody right in the courtroom. Kulakov admitted that he had joint plans to live with his mistress, but he was not guilty of her murder. He also announced his desire to find the real killers of Isaenkova.

According to investigators, on May 2, 2019, he allegedly killed Isaenkova in her Mercedes parked in the forest. During a quarrel, the official punched his mistress in the face, dragged her to the back seat and strangled her, and then fled the scene of the crime.
